During PlayStation Awards 2013 that took place in Tokyo, Japan earlier this week, Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn received the Special Award, a prize awarded for originality, performance and influence.
At the end, Square Enix officially announced that the PS4 version for Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn will be launch in April 2014, while beta phase is expected to start on February 22, 2014. If you are a PS3 version owner, you will be able to upgrade to the PS4 version and transfer all your characters data for free.
The PS4 version will be shown by Naoki Yoshida on December 14 during a “Live Letter from the Producer”. The presentation will also include content from patch 2.1 such as: The Wolves’ Den, Treasure Hunting and Daily Beast Tribe Quests. The patch is expected to hit the live servers on December 17, 2013 (right in time for a Final Fantasy Christmas).
